1. 잡히지 않는 미국 물가…긴축 장기화되나
America’s annual inflation rate dipped to 6.4% in January, from 6.5% in December. Markets had expected a sharper fall. Food prices were up by 10.1% year on year, and energy prices by 8.7%, which all point to further interest-rate rises from the Federal Reserve. 

2. '학자' 우에다, 차기 일본은행 총재 지명…'통화완화 고집' 日 바뀔까
Markets will be watching closely for any sign that Mr Ueda intends to adjust the boj’s ultra-loose policy.

3. 포드, 유럽서 3800명 감원…전기차 집중으로 엔지니어 줄여
After months of rumours, Ford confirmed that it is cutting its workforce in Europe.

4. IEA “재생에너지 3년 뒤 세계 최대 발전원 될 것”
In its latest forecast the International Energy Agency said that the share of renewable energy in the world’s power generation will rise from 29% to 35% in 2025.

5. 석탄값 치솟자 글렌코어 최대 실적
Glencore reported a record annual profit of $34bn, more than half of which came from coal production.

6. 코로나 3년 애먹이다 부활한 에어비앤비
Airbnb recorded net income of $1.9bn for last year, its first annual profit. The property-rentals company has seen a surge in bookings from international tourists.
