1. 3월 미국 소비자물가 5% 상승…9개월째 하락, 갈 길은 멀어
With other data showing another solid monthly increase in the number of jobs created, markets are expecting the Federal Reserve to raise interest rates by a quarter of a percentage point again when it meets in early May.

2. IMF, 올해 한국 경제성장률 1.5% 전망…0.2%p 하향
The IMF slightly reduced its estimate of growth in the world economy this year, to 2.8%.

China’s cyberspace regulator outlined new rules for dealing with generative artificial intelligence, such as requiring firms to submit security reviews to the authorities before releasing new technology to the public.

SoftBank is preparing to sell most of its remaining stake in Alibaba, leaving it with a holding of around 4%.

6. 틱톡, 美 압박에도 3월 광고매출 11% 증가
Revenue and profit surged last year at ByteDance, the privately held Chinese firm behind TikTok and its Chinese version, Douyin.

7. TV 시리즈로 부활하는 ‘해리 포터’, 워너 브라더스의 스트리밍 플랫폼 ‘맥스’ 출범
Warner Bros Discovery announced a new combined streaming service, called Max. It merges high-quality programming from hbo, such as “Succession” and “The Last of Us”, with unscripted filler from Discovery (“90 Day Fiancé”, “Pit Bulls and Parolees”).

EY abandoned a plan to separate its auditing and consulting businesses, intended to tackle conflict-of-interest issues.

9. PC 출하량 급감...1분기 애플 맥 출하량도 40% 감소
Global shipments of personal computers fell by around a third in the first quarter of 2023, year on year, according to separate reports from two consultancies.

10. '감산 없다'던 삼성전자 14년만 최악 실적에 백기
The diminishing demand for pcs is affecting the semiconductor industry. Samsung Electronics is to cut production of memory chips by a “meaningful level”, after quarterly profit plunged by 96%, year on year.

China recorded a surprising surge in export growth for March, reversing five months of declines.

12. 20세기 주방 혁신 타파웨어, 역사 속으로 사라질까
Tupperware warned that it is on the verge of bankruptcy. The company marketed its food containers through Tupperware parties, the butt of many a suburban joke.
